KATY, Texas (Sept 12. 2008) Captain Marcus Woodring, Deputy Commander of Sector Houston-Galveston, addresses Coast Guard members at this morning’s All-Hands at the Incident Command Post about preparations for hurricane Ike.
The Coast Guard shifted it’s resources to Katy, Texas to be ready to go in after Hurricane Ike to rescue anyone in distress. One military official, not from the Coast Guard, has told CNN that 37,000 people may need to be rescued after Hurricane Ike strikes.
