MIAMI — On Saturday, April 24, 2004, DC3 Nathan Bruckenthal of the U.S. Coast Guard was killed by a suicide bomber while conducting a security patrol in the northern Persian Gulf. BM1 Joe Ruggiero, who was with Bruckenthal during the attack, describes what happened that day.
