Video – Coast Guard medically evacuates 60-year-old man

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla. aircrew medically evacuated a 60-year-old man from the 590-foot motor vessel, Resolve, 170 miles southwest of St. Petersburg, Fla., at about 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Search and rescue controllers at the Coast Guard’s Seventh District Command Center in Miami received a call from the Resolve‘s shipping agent at about 12:30 p.m., reporting that the master of the vessel was suffering from severe chest pains.

The crew of an HH-60 Jayhawk rescue helicopter from Air Station Clearwater safely hoisted the man and transferred him to Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

His condition at this time is unknown.

His name is being withheld due to next-of-kin notification.
