Vessel Safety Checks offered in Bellingham, Washington

SEATTLE – The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct Vessel Safety Checks free of charge to all boaters on Saturday, March 24, 2007, from 9:00AM – 12:00PM at Gate 8, Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham, Wash.

A trained auxiliary examiner will check the safety features and equipment of all vessels, including those items required by state and federal regulations. The examiner will offer information and advice on how to comply with the mandatory boating safety regulations. No penalties or citations are issued.

Boat owners will be awarded the USCG 2007 Vessel Safety Seal for passing the Vessel Safety Check requirements.
