Update: Coast Guard prepares for high-water conditions

ST. LOUIS – The Coast Guard continues to monitor current and forecasted high-water conditions on the Missouri and Upper Mississippi Rivers. All efforts are being coordinated with various federal, state and local agencies in response to flood conditions.

The Coast Guard, in conjunction with United States Army Corps of Engineers and industry partners have updated the Missouri River closure from mile marker 500 to 100, spanning from Rulo, Nebraska, to Hermann, Missouri.

Current Vessel restrictions remain in effect on the Upper Mississippi River due to rising waters and excessive debris.

An HH-65C Coast Guard helicopter continues air operations monitoring conditions while the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) remains on standby in Jefferson City, Mo.

An additional DART has been activated and is enroute to St. Louis, Missouri to assist as needed.
