Coast Guard reopens southern branch of Elizabeth River
PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard Captain of the Port for the port of Hampton Roads has rescinded the temporary safety zone on the southern branch of the Elizabeth River in the vicinity of the Gilmerton Bridge, Friday.
The waterway is open to all maritime traffic without restrictions.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard Captain of the Port for the port of Hampton Roads has closed down all river traffic on portions of the southern branch of the Elizabeth River after receiving a report of unexploded ordnance being discovered in the area, Feb. 22, 2013.

NEW YORK-The Coast Guard has established a temporary safety zone in the vicinity of unexploded ordinance, which was discovered earlier this year in Gravesend Bay, Brooklyn, N.Y.
