NEW YORK – The Coast Guard received a report at approximately 10 a.m. from FDNY of an oil sheen at Valentino Pier in Brooklyn, New York. FDNY, seeking to establish the amount and type, responded with FDNY assets Marine 6 and Hazmat 1.
Advisory – Hudson River closures during bridge transit
NEW YORK – The following advisory concerns waterways closures during the Willis Avenue Bridge replacement span, scheduled to be loaded onto two barges at Port Coeymans, N.Y., on Monday, July 12, 2010. The two barges will transport the bridge span down the Hudson River to the Weeks Marine Yard in Jersey City, N.J. on July 13 and 14, 2010.

Cedestinson Ductan landed at Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., 72 hours after the earth shook his world apart. Ductan, a U.S. Coast Guard machinery technician assigned to Station New York, was on leave visiting family and friends in his native Haiti when the earthquake hit.
