Coast Guard rescues 2 boaters stranded on Disappearing Island

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard rescued two boaters Sunday after their boat became stuck aground on Disappearing Island near Ponce Inlet.
Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Command Center watchstanders received a call at 4:00 a.m. from the operator of a 19-foot pontoon boat stating he had been stranded for seven hours after beaching his boat and being unable to relaunch it.
