CLEVELAND — A U.S. Coast Guard air crew assisted the Canadian Coast Guard in locating an overdue boater early Monday morning in the vicinity of Bassett Island in northeastern Lake St. Clair.

Coast Guard Air Station Detroit holds change-of-command ceremony
MT. CLEMENS, Mich. — Cmdr. Michael Platt transferred command of Coast Guard Air Station Detroit to Cmdr. Joseph Deer in a change-of-command ceremony on May 17, 2012, at the air station, located on Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

CLEVELAND – A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Detroit worked with the Canadian coast guard to rescue three men who became disoriented and stranded on an ice floe near the center of Lake St. Clair in Canadian waters Tuesday night.
