Coast Guard rescues swimmer stranded on Kissing Rock in Oregon
SEATTLE — A Coast Guard aircrew rescued a swimmer stranded on Kissing Rock near Gold Beach, Oregon, Friday.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station North Bend, Oregon, hoisted the man from the rock and transferred him to the nearby beach in good condition.

Coast Guard announces seasonal closure of Rogue River, Ore., detachment
ASTORIA, Ore. – The Coast Guard is scheduled to close the Rogue River search and rescue detachment in Gold Beach, Ore., Monday.
The detachment opens seasonally due to increased boating traffic during the summer months and hazardous river bar conditions. The detachment will remain closed until Memorial Day, 2011.
