French Quarter Fest boaters warned of strong river currents

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is advising the boating community to use caution on the Mississippi River during the French Quarter Fest in New Orleans, Wednesday.
Due to spring snow melt, the Mississippi River has crest in a high-water state increasing the risk of strong currents and floating debris making the river more hazardous to recreational boaters.
