SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The search continues this morning for a missing aircraft that departed from Catalina Airport yesterday afternoon.

Stowaways apprehended en route to Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – A joint federal team was mobilized early Sunday to investigate a report of two stowaways on board a container ship en route to the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach complex . The team was made up of members from the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection.

Coast Guard Cutter Halibut medically evacuates sailor attempting to transit from Santa Barbara to Hawaii

SANTA BARBARA, Calif – Late yesterday afternoon the Coast Guard dispatched a rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air-Station Los Angeles and an 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter after receiving a distress call from a solo sailor on a 25 foot sailboat who was transiting from Santa Barbara to Hawaii. LOS ANGELES – Tomorrow, November 4, Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles will welcome up to 50 disabled and sick children, some terminally ill, from New Zealand for a tour of the Air Station at 8 a.m.

CGC Halibut crew rescues stranded sailor

SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Halibut, homeported in Marina Del Ray, Calif., assisted a stranded sailor Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 100 miles off the coast of southern California. The boater was sailing his 44-foot sailboat to California from Hawaii when he ran out of fuel.
