Portsmouth, Va. – Vice Adm. Robert J. Papp, Jr., commander of the Coast Guard’s Atlantic Area here, has temporarily relieved the commanding officer of a Boston-based cutter citing a loss in confidence in the officer’s ability to command.

Coast Guard cutters to undergo extensive repair work

NORFOLK, Va. – The U.S. Coast Guard’s Maintenance and Logistics Command Atlantic Area here, has awarded a ship repair contract to a Charleston, S.C., shipyard to conduct extensive repair work to the cutters Dallas and Gallatin.

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston-based Coast Guard Cutter Gallatin is scheduled to have a change of command ceremony aboard the cutter here Friday at 11 a.m., where Capt. John T. Davis will assume command from Capt. Robert P. Wagner.
