Coast Guard cutters to arrive in Portland, Ore., for Rosefest

PORTLAND, Ore. – Five Coast Guard cutters and a motor life boat are scheduled to arrive in Portland, Ore., Wednesday, June 2, in celebration of Rosefest.

ASTORIA, Ore. — Cmdr. Matthew Creelman was relieved by Cmdr. Brad Mynatt as the commanding officer (CO) of the Coast Guard Cutter Alert in a joint change-of-command and retirement ceremony held Friday, June 19, 2009, outside of the Columbia River Maritime Museum here.

Coast Guard Cutter Alert returns home to Astoria today

SEATTLE – The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Alert will return to their homeport in Astoria, Ore., Thursday at 9:30 a.m. While on a routine patrol in the Eastern Pacific, the crew of the Alert successfully interdicted a Self-Propelled Semi-Submersible vessel (SPSS) laden with approximately 5,000 kg. of cocaine.

12 smugglers apprehended from three semi-submersible vessels in Eastern Pacific

ALAMEDA, Calif – A dozen suspected drug smugglers were apprehended between New Years Eve and January 8 by the U. S. Coast Guard in the Eastern Pacific Ocean following the interception of three semi-submersible drug trafficking vessels by U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships on routine patrol in the region.   The suspects will be turned over to the U.S. Dept. of Justice.
