1943 – Coast Guard Air Station Brooklyn,at Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, New York, was designated as a helicopter training base. The Coast Guard ran the training program during the war.
1984 – The Coast Guard accepted the new HH-65A Dolphin helicopter for service.
