The orange sun slowly sets over the horizon on a perfect day near the shores of Hawaii’s famous landmark, Diamond Head. HONOLULU — The U.S. Coast Guard is scheduled to dedicate a memorial at Air Station Barbers Point Friday at 9:30 a.m., honoring the crews of two fatal crashes, that of the ‘CG1420’ in 1982 and of the ‘CG6505’ in 2008.
The memorial will be unveiled on the first anniversary of the loss of ‘CG6505.’

SAN FRANCISCO — Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco participated in a tribute on Wednesday and Thursday in honor of the Honolulu-based helicopter crew who perished in a nighttime training accident in September 2008.
