Surveys indicate shoaling in Carolina Beach

Carolina Beach, NC – Mariners are advised that Carolina Beach Inlet’s Aids to Navigation may be unreliable due to recent shoaling across the channel, with depths less than 2 feet in the vicinity of Carolina Beach Inlet Buoys 1, 2 and 7. This presents a potential hazard of grounding and damaging of mariners’ vessels. Mariners should exercise extreme caution when transiting the area.
