CHARLESTON, S.C. — Effective 8 p.m. Wednesday, the Coast Guard Captain of the Port Charleston set port condition Yankee for Ports of South Carolina due to the expectation of sustained gale force winds of 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph generated by Hurricane Florence that may arrive within 24 hours.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Coast Guard Sector Charleston is to establish a temporary safety zone on the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach, Monday.
