NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is responding to a barge allision at mile marker 95 on the Mississippi River, near the Crescent City Connection Bridge, in New Orleans, Friday.

NEW ORLEANS – Barge recovery operations were completed, in which 1,976,000 gallons of denatured ethanol was successfully removed from barges near Helena, Ark, Thursday.
Over a four-day period, 292,000 gallons entered the water.
Investigators believe the denatured ethanol was released into the Mississippi River and quickly mixed into the water column, making the released product unrecoverable.

JUNEAU, Alaska — The Coast Guard is investigating an allision that occurred between an Alaska Marine Lines barge and the Coast Guard Cutter Sycamore in Cordova, Sunday.
The Sycamore, a 225-foot seagoing buoy tender, was at its moorings when the allision occurred and suffered damage to its bow.
