Former Virginia Beach man convicted of making false distress signal
NORFOLK, Va. — A Norfolk federal jury has convicted Larry L. Deffenbaugh, 59, formerly of Virginia Beach, Va., of conspiracy and communicating a false distress signal to the Coast Guard.
