Station Sand Key Medevacs 45 Year-Old Man

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Coast Guard medically evacuated an injured 45 year-old-man, Saturday, from a recreational boat in the Hudson River, New Port Richey, Fla.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, in St. Petersburg, Fla., received a channel 16 VHF/FM radio call from the father of Michael Gima, reporting his son had suffered an injury after falling onboard their 22-foot center console boat, The Foot, Saturday at 1:07 p.m.

A Coast Guard 25-foot response boat crew from Station Sand Key responded arriving on scene at 2:18 p.m. Crewmembers safely transported Gima to the Hudson Dock in New Port Richey and transferred him to awaiting EMS.

Gima’s condition is unknown.
