Station Fortescue crews assist 5 in the Delaware Bay

FORTESCUE, N.J. – The Coast Guard assisted five people Monday after the 24-foot boat they were aboard became disabled at anchor in the Delaware Bay.

The Coast Guard received a call at 7:30 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Finback reporting they came across the crew of the Top Hook and stated the boat had no operating lights due to a dead battery.

A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Fortescue arrived on scene and took the Top Hook and its crew in tow and moored them safely at Collins Marina near Wildwood, N.J.
