Station Atlantic City medevacs man near Atlantic City, N.J.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 70-year-old man from aboard an aground 35-foot boat Friday in the New Jersey Inter-coastal Waterway near Atlantic City.

Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia received a report at 9:53 a.m. from a crewmember aboard a rescue boat from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City reporting they were assisting three people whose boat had run aground and once on scene discovered one of the passengers had cracked ribs due to the grounding.

The rescue boat crew from transferred the man aboard their boat and transported him back to the station.

The man was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel for treatment.

The aground 35-foot boat was towed to Trump Marina in Atlantic City by a commercial salvage boat crew.
