LOS ANGELES – A small craft advisory is in effect for start of Spiny Lobster fishing season that is scheduled to begin at midnight Friday, and all participating recreational and commercial divers please note that National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a small craft advisory through Friday evening.
Winds are expected to be 10-25 knots out of the northwest and gusts up to 30 knots and seas approaching six feet.
Severe casualties and fatalities have occurred in conjunction with the Spiny Lobster opener in recent years. Participants should exercise particular caution and prepare for the adverse weather conditions forecast.
