Search Suspended for Missing Oregon Boater

Warrenton, Ore. – The search for the 40-year old Warrenton man who went missing after his boat capsized near the mouth of the Columbia River was suspended at 3:01 p.m. yesterday, pending further developments.

An HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Ore., boat crews from Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment, Wash., and the Clatsop County, Ore., Sheriff’s Office searched more than 40 square miles for seven hours today.

The Coast Guard and the Clatsop County, Ore., Sheriff’s Office rescued two other men who were also on the boat when it capsized.

None of the men were wearing life jackets.
