Search for Missing Boaters Near Red Bluff Beach Continues

HOUSTON – Coast Guard rescue crews and city and state agencies are searching the waters near Houston, Texas today, for at least two missing boaters.

At 1:07 p.m., a Coast Guard watchstander at Sector Houston-Galveston received a call from an invididual at Pine Gully Park reporting a 25-foot boat had beached itself just south of Red Bluff Beach with the engines still running, but no one on board. Coast Guard watchstanders contacted relatives of the owners of the boat who confirmed at least two people were going out today.

A Coast Guard rescue boat from Sector Houston-Galveston, an HH-65C rescue helicopter from Air Station Houston, Seabrook Police and Fire Departments, Kemah Police Department, and Texas Parks and Wildlife are searching for the missing boaters.
