HONOLULU — A HC-130 Hercules aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point, a Navy C-130 aircrew and search crews from the Republic of Marshall Islands continue to search Monday for four mariners who were reported missing aboard a 14-foot boat with a white hull near Majuro, in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Friday.

The Hercules aircrew launched from Oahu at 3 p.m. Saturday and has searched an area more than 11,000 square miles, an area nearly three times the size of the Big Island.

The Coast Guard search crew will continue the search throughout the night, Monday.

The U.S. Embassy in Majuro contacted the Coast Guard Joint Rescue Coordination Center watchstanders about 1 p.m. Saturday, requesting assistance in the search for the distressed crew. The four mariners were last seen departing from Arno Atoll en route to Majuro.
