SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Rescue crews ended their search for a missing boater after Puerto Rico State Emergency Management personnel reported that the body was located and recovered by fishermen Wednesday afternoon near shore west of the Herrera Bridge in Loíza, Puerto Rico.
“Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with the friends and families of the deceased,” said Captain Joanna Nunan, Deputy Commander of Coast Guard Sector San Juan.
Coast Guard rescue crews aboard an Air Station Borinquen MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and a Station San Juan 45-foot Response Boat searched alongside Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces of Rapid Action F.U.R.A. marine units and Puerto State Emergency Management Agency personnel.
