Quarterly South Texas Coastal Zone Area Committee Meeting To Be Held In Point Comfort

Corpus Christi, Texas – The South Texas Coastal Zone Area Committee (STCZAC) will hold its quarterly meeting and an Information Transfer Meeting in Point Comfort, Texas, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17th, 2007. The public is invited to attend the meeting that will be held at Formosa Guest House, Formosa Plastics, Point Comfort.

The STCZAC serves as a spill preparedness planning body responsible for developing coordinated multiple agency response strategies for the discharge, or threat of discharge, of oil or hazardous substances in pre-designated Inland and Coastal zones.

Agenda items for this meeting will include briefings by TGLO on abandoned sunken vessels, their CD ROM toolkit, trajectories, South Texas update and local area oil spills. There will also be an update on the Environmental Risk Assessment Workshop and updates on public outreach, wildlife rehabilitation, and the area contingency plan workgroups. In addition, there will be discussions on the Wildlife Recovery and Rehabilitation Workgroup, followed by the 2007 OSPRA awards, STCZAC Accomplishments for 2006 and goals for 2007.
