LOS ANGELES –– The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department Dive Unit in coordination with units from Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach recovered the body of a man matching the description of the diver reported missing Friday evening.The diver was reported missing at 9 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 from his vessel found anchored 500 yards off Rancho Palos Verdes coast.
The Coast Guard cannot confirm the identity of the body found until a medical examiner makes positive identification.
Divers located the body outfitted wth diving gear at 12:16 p.m., Saturday, approximately 500 yards from the initial anchored location of the vessel.
The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department.
