Person in the Water Rescued by Coast Guard

ALAMEDA, Calif. – At 11:40 a.m. a U.S. Coast Guard HH-65 helicopter, from Air Station San Francisco, rescued a person in the water who was swept off the rocks at Pfeiffer Point, 25 nautical miles south of Monterey Bay.

The Park Rangers notified the Coast Guard at 11:17 a.m., after they saw him in the water at approximately 11:03 a.m.

The person was believed to have treaded water for an hour. After being picked up by the Coast Guard, he was mildly hypothermic and then pronounced in stable condition upon arrival at the Monterey General Airport.

He was later taken to the Monterey Hospital by local emergency medical services.
