New Orleans Coast Guard Medevacs Injured Crewman

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a man from a vessel approximately 40 miles south of Grand Isle, LA late Thursday afternoon.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans received a call at 6:39 p.m., from Coast Guard Sector New Orleans, reporting that a crewman working on the Motor Vessel Timeless had a fever, was vomiting, and fell unconscious.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans crews diverted an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter to pick up the man. He was safely transported to the Air Station and an awaiting ambulance, where he was further delivered to Ochsner Medical Center – West Bank.
