New Coast Guard Intelligence Specialist Rating

The Navy Times reports that the Coast Guard is less than 18 months away from starting up an intelligence specialist rating for enlisted personnel.

Commandant Adm. Thad Allen approved the new rating Nov. 2, directing a human resources team to map out guidelines and qualifications criteria, said Cmdr. Linda Ingram, chief of work force management for the Coast Guard’s intelligence and criminal investigations division, on Wednesday.

The rating is expected to have between 250 and 300 active-duty billets and 100 reserve billets, Ingram said.
