New Bedford fishing vessel safely moored after Coast Guard tow

BOSTON – The New Bedford, Mass., fishing boat Humbak, is safely moored at the New Bedford Fish Pier this morning after being towed by the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard Cutter Tybee, from Woods Hole, Mass., towed the 86-foot Humbak to Quick’s Hole, Mass., where they transferred the tow to a 47-foot boat crew from Coast Guard Station Menemsha. They arrived at the fish pier around 3:30 a.m.

The Humbak called Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England around 2:15 a.m., Monday, reporting they were disabled due to engine failure and needed assistance.
