Missing San Francisco deputy located

ALAMEDA, Calif. – Three men on a work boat located and recovered the deputy who went missing from his 26-foot vessel in the vicinity of Vallejo, Calif., Monday.

At approximately 3:06 p.m., three workers on a dingy located and recovered a body and turned it over to Coast Guard Station Vallejo crewmembers at the marina’s B dock. The sherrif’s department identified the body to be the San Francisco County Sheriff’s Deputy, Michael Roberts.

The Coast Guard received a report at approximately 6:45 a.m. Monday of the unmanned 26-foot pleasure craft adrift inside the Vallejo Marina belonging to Michael Roberts. The Coast Guard immediately launched crews aboard a 25-ft. response boat from Station Vallejo, and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco.

The case has been turned over to the Vallejo Police Department for further investigation.
