Miami Coast Guard unit gets new commander

MIAMI — Coast Guard Personnel Services and Support Unit (PSSU) Miami received a new commander during a change-of-command ceremony held at Base Support Unit Miami Wednesday.

Capt. David Cinalli relieved Capt. Christine Balboni as the commander of PSSU Miami during the ceremony, a time-honored tradition that formally recognizes the transfer of authority from one individual to another.

Balboni is set to become the Seventh Coast Guard District chief of planning and force readiness.

Cinalli reports to PSSU Miami from his most recent tour as the Senior Maritime Security Advisor for U.S. Forces in Iraq at the U.S. Embassy Baghdad and Joint Inter-Agency Task Force Umm Qasr at Forward Operating Base Bucca.
