Miami area ports reopen as Tropical Storm Isaac heads north

Southeastern Coast Guard NewsMIAMI – Effective 10 p.m. Monday, Coast Guard Captain of the Port, Capt. Chris Scraba, reopened the Port of Miami, Miami River, Port Everglades, Port of Palm Beach, Port of Ft. Pierce, and all remaining terminals and facilities, to commercial and recreational vessel traffic due to Tropical Storm Isaac no longer affecting the area with sustained gale force winds.

Vessels may now enter or transit within the waterways pertaining.

The aids to navigation for Miami are on station and working properly.

All mariners are reminded to keep a sharp lookout and report all hazards to the Captain of the Port, Miami.
