Memorial service to be held for Coast Guardsman killed in traffic accident

SAN PEDRO, Calif. – The Coast Guard will hold a memorial service this afternoon for Chief Warrant Officer Dan Thomas, who was killed during a traffic accident Aug. 20th on his way to work at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach.

Thomas, a Maritime Law Enforcement Specialist, served 27 years in the Coast Guard at 15 different units.

Thomas is survived by his wife Michelle, daughter Alexis, and sons Ian and Derek.
