Man medically evacuated from cargo ship

ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 52-year-old man from a cargo ship 120 miles west of here Saturday.

Coast Guard Group/Air Station Astoria received a request for assistance from the master of the M/V Hyundai 206 when one of his crewmembers became ill and needed to be taken to a hospital. An MH-60 helicopter crew was dispatched to the scene and the man was taken to Group/Air Station Astoria where emergency response crews transferred him to Columbia Memorial Hospital.
