Man Medevaced Near Sabine Pass

Sabine Pass, TX – The Coast Guard medevaced a man showing symptoms of a heart attack last night from a 106-foot supply boat off Sabine Pass, Texas.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Houston/Galveston received a call for assistance at midnight from the supply boat Madison reporting that they had a man on board complaining of chest pains.

Coast Guard Station Sabine dispatched a rescue boat crew to medevac the man. The rescue boat crew met the Madison at the jetty tips off Sabine, unable to travel any farther out due to a heavy fog. The crew took the man to the Rowan Fuel Docks in Sabine, where local emergency medical technicians were waiting. He was then transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital.
