MARBLEHEAD, Ohio — More than two dozen local, state and federal agencies participated in Icy Resolve 2013, a mass rescue full-scale exercise at Coast Guard Station Marblehead, Ohio, Saturday.
The Coast Guard participated in the training exercise with other rescue agencies with the purpose to provide all participants an opportunity to evaluate response plans, capabilities and coordination for a mass rescue operation.
The exercise featured a simulated plane crash just off shore with part of the rescue operation involving victim actors, who had fallen through the ice and needed rescue.
