Kayaker rescued by Coast Guard near Anclote Key, Fla.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 25-year-old man was rescued from the water after his kayak overturned three miles off Anclote Key, Florida Sunday.

Pasco County Sheriff’s Office contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg after receiving a 911 call reporting the male has overturned his kayak and could not re-right it. It was also reported he was with three other kayakers who were not in any immediate danger.

A 45-foot Response Boat—Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Sand Key arrived on scene, removed the man from the water and successfully brought all kayakers aboard. They were transported to Anclote River boat ramp with no injuries.
