MIAMI — A good Samaritan rescued a man from a vessel on fire near North Oakland Bridge, Sunday.

The good Samaritan notified Coast Guard Sector Miami watchstanders at approximately 3:48 p.m., and reported he was able to rescue the man from the 23-foot white vessel on fire with no apparent injuries.

Watchstanders directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale 33-foot Special Purpose Craft—Law Enforcement who arrived on scene, extinguished the fire, with assistance from Fort Lauderdale Fire Department and Fort Lauderdale Police Department crews, and towed the vessel to Bokampers Sports Bar and Grill pier.
