SAN FRANCISCO — The National Weather Service has issued a Gale Warning for the offshore and inland waters of the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The warning is in effect from Saturday starting at 10 p.m. until Sunday at 6 a.m. An approaching cold front storm is expected to produce strong winds up to 45 knots, and heavy surf up to 15 feet. These types of ocean and weather conditions are challenging and dangerous for vessels of any size.
Vessel owners and operators are reminded to ensure their vessels are properly secured to the dock. Owners of paddle-craft, kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards, are also remained to ensure that their craft are properly secured to the dock to prevent them from being blown of the dock and into the water.
