Funeral Arrangements for Petty Officer Shaun Lin

Wshington – Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Bob Papp has released the below message with information concerning the funeral arrangements for Petty Officer Shaun Lin.

Shipmates, last week I informed you of the loss of Petty Officer Shaun Lin. This message provides details on Petty Officer Lins interment as we continue to provide care and compassion for his family and the crew of MSST New York.

The National Ensign shall be flown at half-mast on all Coast Guard buildings, grounds, and on vessels not underway from 0800 (local) to sunset on Thursday 21 OCct 2010, in honor of Petty Officer LIn.

Funeral arrangements for Petty Officer Lin have been finalized and all services are open to the public. The uniforom for active duty members will be service dress blue with combination cover. Dignified informal attire is appropriate for civilians.

Viewing hours will be held from 1400-1600 and 1900-2100 on Wednesday, 20 October at Leo F. Kearns funeral Home 61-40 Woodhaven Blvd, Rego Park (Queens), New York 11374.

A Funeral mass will be held at 1000 on Thursday, 21 October at Saint Adalberts Catholic Church, 52-29 83rd Street, Elmhurst, New York 11373.

Following the mass, Petty Officer Lin will be buried with full military honors at Long Island National Cemetary, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
