This Day in Coast Guard History:

1992 – Hurricane Andrew struck Florida and the Gulf coast states causing extensive damage.  Coast Guard units conducted search and rescue, relief, and transport operations.


Courtney seeks money for National Coast Guard Museum in New London – Register Citizen

Plans are in the works to create a commemorative coin to help raise money for the planned National Coast Guard Museum in New London.


The Coast Guard Cutter Paul Clark was commissioned at Coast Guard Base Miami Beach, Fla., Aug. 24, 2013. The cutter Paul Clark is the sixth and final Sentinel-class Fast Response Cutter to be homeported in Miami and is capable of conducting missions such as ports, waterways and coastal security, fishery patrols, drug and illegal migrant law enforcement, search and rescue, and national-defense operations.
