Fort Myers Beach, Fla. Coast Guard receives donated Christmas trees

St. Petersburg, Fla.— Coast Guardsmen received donated Christmas trees from Trees for Troops at Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach, Florida, Friday.

More than 20 Christmas trees were donated to Coast Guard members in the Fort Myers Beach area.

Trees for Troops has delivered more than 17,000 Christmas trees to active-duty military members in the U.S. and overseas this year. The Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, Fedex and donations from the public make Trees for Troops possible.

“We really appreciate what Trees for Troops does for our Coast Guardsmen,” said Chief Petty Officer Randall F. Keller, executive petty officer at the station. “These trees help generate the holiday spirit, which can be tough for our members who are often far away from their families this time of year.”
