Florida FWC Recovers Deceased Man near Lake Worth Inlet

MIAMI – After a 16 hour search by Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet and local agencies, the body of a missing 49- year-old male was located in the Intercoastal Waterway off Lake Worth Inlet, Fla., by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission response boatcrews at approximately 11:27 a.m., Sunday.

Coast Guard Sector Miami search-and-rescue coordinators were notified at approximately 6:55 p.m. Saturday, that a 49-year-old male wearing blue shorts and no shirt fell overboard from a 31-foot contender class while the boat was underway.

Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet 25-foot rescue boatcrew, Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office dive unit and FWC response boatcrews were immediately launched and continued searching the scene for the missing man.

The deceased man was located within the search area charted by Sector Miami, approximately one mile from where he reportedly fell overboard.

The remains of the deceased man are being taken to Station Lake Worth Inlet and will be transferred to awaiting EMS.

FWC is the investigating agency.
