Federal, state and local agencies to train Sea Cadets

VALLEJO, Calif. – Representatives from Coast Guard Station Vallejo have scheduled and organized a nine-day long seminar for youth involved in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps to be hosted by the California Maritime Academy June 13 – 21.

The training seminar will provide insight to the Sea Cadets about military and civilian law enforcement job opportunities. Cadets will learn small arms safety and basic police skills, participate in physical fitness, and receive hands on training from various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

The NSCC is a non-profit youth organization for 14-18 year olds to learn about the military with no obligation to join. Cadets train one weekend a month and two weeks each year at various military bases throughout the country. The NSCC promotes a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle while instilling teamwork and leadership skills.
