JUNEAU, Alaska – A disabled freighter in the Bering Sea, that had called for assistance from the Coast Guard, regained power early this morning.
The Mathawee Naree, a Thai flagged 554-foot freighter, had been disabled for over 24 hours before regaining power.
The Juneau Coast Guard Command Center is keeping a 2-hour communication schedule with the Mathawee Naree in order to monitor the continuing operation of the freighter. The freighter is continuing on to its original destination.
